The historical backdrop of Kelva Mahim fort is about
800-1000 yrs back (Kille Vasai Mohim). Comprising a little Bhavanimata temple. The fort,
encompassed by the water, give captivating eye-getting background.
The fort is square fit as a fiddle and had a little passageway. The dividers of the fort are not
exceptionally tall. Inside there is a staircase which prompts the upper bastion of the fort and
furthermore the dividers of the fort. The fort consists of several rooms in it, some inherent
the dividers of the fort, others for which the establishment and dividers stand tall and a well!
This fort is little is the size and your tour will be completed within 30 minutes. Talking about
the history, nothing is clear yet, though, as per localities it was built by Portuguese, then to
the Marathas and finally the Britishers. Now it is not clear yet! But the place is beautiful to
visit.
Review
Minor remains of a bygone era. Photogenic place with decent view on one side.
Idiots have managed to litter plastic around the place; not much inside
though. The boundary wall is still intact, so you can walk around the entire
fort.
